“The LORD will keep you from all harm and watch over your life! He will watch over your coming in and going out both now and forevermore!”
Psalm 121:7-8
Psalm 121:7-8 beautifully describes our journey with God over the past 13 years of ministry in Mbale, Uganda! He has faithfully protected our previous 18+ mission teams, as well as our Ugandan family that have their feet permanently on the ground, and their hands openly extended to His leadership!! Although hearts were saddened by the cancellation of our July trip due to the Ebola outbreak, it proved once more that God’s all-knowing hand of protection is ever covering us…ONLY GOD…And to Him be ALL the glory!
As we write this, our focus is now on October 12-23, 2026 when we will have 24 team members on the ground in Mbale and throughout Eastern Uganda. This team ranges in age from 17 to 79, and it carries forth the missional hearts of six different churches joining together to fulfill Matthew 28:19-20! Though multifaceted by design, sharing the Gospel is the driving force in all we will do! We plan to lift high the name of Jesus Christ by utilizing many different outreach methods such as feeding and loving on children in the Namatala Slum, teaching in-home Bible studies in at least four different villages, conducting mini-Vacation Bible Schools for hundreds of children, prayer walking through villages and engaging those we meet with the love of Jesus! We are anticipating that one of our most powerful mission outreaches will be the distribution of close to 400 food bags with enough provisions to feed a family for 4-6 days…all for less than $20/bag! The impact of each bag will reach far beyond that of physical nourishment as each bag represents a unique and personal opportunity to share the Gospel with someone who may have never experienced first-hand the love of Jesus in action! Special Moments
One of our “special” moments on this trip will be that of celebrating Gloria, our School Nurse, who has successfully earned her Diploma in Nursing! Gloria was able to achieve this degree because of a sponsor in America who helped by supplementing the fees for her continuing education dreams! Gloria is a mother not only to her 1 ½ year old son, but also to the 315 students at Ebenezer Christian School. She not only cares for their health needs, but she also provides encouragement and comfort to them on a daily basis in the clinic! To many of our students, Gloria is the ONLY mother that they have!
Each trip has unexpected blessings, but one of the most meaningful highlights of EVERY mission trip is seeing some of our child sponsors as they are united face-to-face with their sponsored child-PRICELESS! We also get to experience the excitement of those sponsored children whose sponsors cannot make the trip as we present gifts and letters to them from their sponsors in America! And YOU could be one of those who brings joy and hope to the life of a young child in Mbale by becoming a child sponsor…And if you do, we could even carry your child a sponsor letter too! But just what does sponsoring a child do? IT TRANSFORMS THEIR LIFE!! They no longer have to worry about not being able to attend school as it covers their school fees, uniforms, etc. Food and medical care become the norm rather than the exception. And most importantly, they are showered with the love of Jesus day in and day out, and that love ultimately is carried into their homes and we are seeing entire families come to Christ through the gift of sponsorship! And last but not least is a beautiful update on the ONE HALL multi-purpose building at the school that many of you have been a part of helping transform from dream into reality! This 40’x90’ building will serve as a study area and dining hall for the students, a training area to host conferences, etc., and most importantly as a sanctuary for the church that gathers multiple times each week at the school! As of this writing, the interior and exterior walls are now plastered, the windows and doors are set, and the electrical is nearing completion. This is going to be a very special gathering place for the upcoming trip during our days at the school as we will be able to host the children’s VBS, Bible Studies, and our many other planned activities without concern of weather conditions or the heat of the equatorial sun! We are looking forward to watching God provide the provisions for the painting and floor tiles in the coming days as those finishing touches will make the “One Hall” completely functional in every way!
