Why We Do What We Do

Our Mission Field

God has called us to serve the beautiful people of the greater Mbale region of eastern Uganda. This vibrant but deeply challenged community includes tens of thousands of children, many living in vulnerable circumstances and growing up in homes affected by poverty, instability, or loss. A significant number of these young ones are full or partial orphans, facing daily hardship in an area where the median age is just over 15. Yet even in the midst of these challenges, God is at work—bringing hope, shaping futures, and transforming lives one child at a time.

The unemployment rate remains a serious concern at roughly 70%, contributing to widespread poverty and poor living conditions. Most residents live in homes made from mud and wattle, with limited access to clean water and proper sanitation. Despite these significant challenges, the community is marked by resilience, joy, and a deep faith in God.

Through God's grace and provision, and with the continued support of our faithful partners and supporters, Mission Mbale has witnessed remarkable growth and transformation. The people of Mbale have embraced what God is doing, and the local government has acknowledged the positive changes in the community. Our presence here continues to grow stronger as more lives are touched by God’s love through this ministry.

Each new sponsorship, donation, and prayer has played a vital role in this mission. With God’s guiding hand and the backing of supporters who share in this vision, we are seeing tangible change—hearts are turning to Christ, lives are being restored, and hope is being renewed daily. This mission is not our own—it is God's work, and we are humbled to be a part of it as He continues to bring hope and renewal to the people of Mbale, Uganda.

Our Goals and Values

  • We exist to share the hope and love found in Jesus Christ while addressing essential life needs one child at a time.

  • Empowered by God's love and guided by compassion, we envision a future where every child experiences renewed hope, dignity, and transformation. Through Christ-centered evangelism, sustainable partnerships, community-driven initiatives, and child sponsorships, we aim to break the cycle of spiritual and physical poverty, fostering a thriving community where joy and resilience flourish amidst challenges.

About Our Logo

Our logo is more than just a visual representation; it encapsulates the essence of Mission Mbale and its deep connection to the community of Mbale, Uganda. Each element is thoughtfully crafted to tell a story of unity, purpose, and belonging in our evangelical mission.

The pieces that form the double “M” illustrate the diverse elements of Mbale, showcasing our commitment to being a part of the city's fabric. Mission Mbale is not about imposing external values; rather, we aim to transform lives through genuine connections within the community. This logo embodies our mission to work collaboratively with the people of Mbale, sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ.

The upper “M” retains the original double “M” design while also reflecting the unique shape of the Mbale roads. This interlocking structure represents the unity and interconnectedness that we strive for within the city.
